The Berkshires in July are as good as it gets in Western Massachusetts! Tanglewood in full swing, Onota Lake for a summer afternoon, downtown Pittsfield on a warm evening, and the small-town civic celebrations across the county that give Independence Day its grounded, community-rooted character.
Canna Provisions has two locations serving the region: Pittsfield and Lee. Both are well-positioned for pre-holiday shopping before the Berkshires summer weekend gets going.

July 4th Events Across the Berkshires
Williamstown July 4th Celebrations
Williamstown is marking the nation’s 250th anniversary with an expanded Fourth of July celebration, stretching across both Friday and Saturday with a full day of free and community-focused events on July 4th.
The day starts at 9:00 AM with outdoor yoga on the Williams Inn lawn and the Williamstown Farmers Market, with family activities on Spring Street running from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The Hometown Parade steps off at 11:00 AM from Southworth Street to Spring Street, followed immediately by a free community hotdog cookout on Walden Street at 11:30 AM and a Brass-O-Mania performance on the Post Office Steps at noon.
The afternoon opens up with a free community swim at Sand Springs Pool and more events throughout the day. A charity cookout benefiting the North Adams Lions Club runs from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Taconic Golf Club parking lot, with burgers and hot dogs available for purchase. The evening wraps up with fireworks at Taconic Golf Club at 9:00 PM, with the grounds opening at 6:00 PM.
Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade
The Pittsfield Fourth of July Parade’s 2026 theme, “America 250: Pittsfield Celebrates the Generations,” centers on the people, places, and eras that have shaped Pittsfield and the Berkshires specifically, spanning early settlement and Revolutionary roots all the way through today’s creative community and the next generation coming up.
Before the parade gets underway, Berkshire Health Systems and the Berkshire Running Foundation host the annual BHS 4th of July 5K Road Race, starting at 9:00 AM on July 4th, with proceeds supporting community wellness programming through Berkshire Health Systems.
The parade itself follows the 5K, running rain or shine through the heart of the city. The Fourth of July weekend extends into Sunday, July 5th, with the Pittsfield Parade Committee’s 4th annual Car Show at the McKay Street Parking Garage from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, entered via McKay Street. All vehicles are welcome, with entry on a suggested $10 donation basis and no advance registration required.
Trophies will be awarded at the end of the show for categories including Best of Show, Visitor Choice, Parade Committee Choice, Best Truck, Best Custom, and Oldest Vehicle. Plus, a food truck will be on site throughout the event.
