Doane’s Falls, Royalston

Race Brook Falls, Sheffield
Besides the charming lead up to the falls down where the main Race Brook Lodge is, the sprawling grounds and rustic veneer of the landscape is perfect for spontaneous stay-overs (vacancy dependent) as well as a private house halfway up the mountain that’s for rent. Nice.
Bash Bish Falls, Bash Bish Falls State Park
Right on the border of New York state and Massachusetts is this fantastic day hike and outdoors area. It’s the highest waterfall in all of Massachusetts, and the falls itself is an 80 foot drop into emerald waters that create a plunge pool. The Cascade, North Adams
A real in-town gem, this is great. Campbell Falls, New Marlborough
A fantastic set of falls in Campbell Falls State Park, where the Whiting River crawls its way through the dense fauna until hitting a 50 foot drop where the water smashes against the rocks below. It’s kind of loud, in that good impressed-by-nature way. Do it for the gorge factor alone.
