What’s New with Cannabis in Massachusetts and at Canna Provisions

When you consider the impressive speed at which the cannabis industry continues to grow, it’s not surprising that there’s always something new to report. And at Canna Provisions, your favorite Massachusetts dispensaries, we’re always working on the next exciting thing – what can we say, we’re all about keeping the journey moving forward.

From high-tech cannabis vending machines to the growing Canna Provisions network of dispensaries in the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley, here’s the latest in cannabis in our state.

Canna Provisions in the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley

This is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most exciting pieces of recent industry news for the Canna Provisions team: our third dispensary in Massachusetts is now welcoming shoppers ready to buy cannabis for adult use. That puts with dispensaries the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley, putting our top-quality cannabis products within easy reach for more people than ever.

Stay Safe While Shopping with Canna Provisions’ Low-Contact Options

Your health, safety, and comfort are always top priorities, but especially during current times. Living through the COVID-19 pandemic can be confusing, stressful, and frustrating, but if there’s one thing that’s staying constant, it’s Canna Provisions ensuring access to excellent quality cannabis.

We want you to feel safe while shopping, so we’ve implemented new procedures that make it possible to cut down on contact without sacrificing your favorite products. Depending on how you prefer to shop, you can choose from the following options at our dispensaries:

    • Curbside pickup: Use our online ordering system to fill up your virtual cart (or call us to order), then choose a 30-minute window for pickup. Once you arrive at your dispensary, you’ll check in with a Canna Provisions team member (all of whom are fully masked and gloved!), and we’ll wrap up your transaction and payment.
    • Curbside ordering: Preorders are the easiest way to shop with us, but we know that option might not always work for you. So, you can opt for curbside ordering instead. One of our guides will meet you at your car, then walk you through the ordering process. We’ll package up your order, then bring it out to your vehicle – pretty simple!
    • In-store ordering: Finally, if in-store ordering is how you’d like to shop, that’s always an option. We’ve worked hard to keep both customers and staff safe while in each dispensary, so you can shop with confidence.

No matter how you’re shopping, Canna Provisions, we ask that you come prepared with a face mask or covering. Ultimately, our goal is to make sure that everyone can still get the adult-use cannabis they know and love in a safe, enjoyable way!

Cannabis “Vending Machines” Dispense a Somewhat Questionable Buying Experience

At first glance, this news headline might seem like an exciting industry breakthrough – but for those of us at Canna Provisions, the actual story is somewhat of a head-scratcher. Vending machines for cannabis in Massachusetts? Our team of experienced cannabis guides was decidedly not in favor of this idea, as creative and outside-the-box as it may be.

But before we dive into our thoughts on the topic, here’s a quick rundown to keep you in the loop: sometime this fall, a handful of dispensaries in Massachusetts are going to be launching cannabis vending machines at their retail locations throughout the state. The machines are part of an effort to protect shoppers who may be vulnerable to COVID-19, trying to cut down on contact while still offering a way to purchase cannabis.

While we understand (and appreciate) the thought behind the idea, it’s definitely left us with more than a few questions. First and foremost, cannabis vending machines don’t eliminate contact with a dispensary employee – this isn’t going to be like making a quick stop at a vending machine for your lunchtime soda. In fact, each shopper will still have to interact with an employee in order to present their driver’s license and get payment approved.

Our biggest sticking point with the cannabis vending machine model is this: if a shopper has questions about a product or isn’t sure which strain is best for them, who will help? Without a guide on hand, there’s a good chance that at least a few people will experience some serious buyer’s remorse. At Canna Provisions, our core mission has always been to serve as knowledgeable guides on your cannabis journey… but when you replace our team with an automated machine, the whole thing falls apart.

Instead, we’ve created a few different options that achieve similar goals as the vending machine, offering up low-contact shopping and convenience without sacrificing high-quality customer service. You already know that Canna Provisions does curbside cannabis pick-up and curbside orders and in-store ordering. Our dispensaries in the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley each provide all three options, so you can choose the one that best suits your comfort level, schedule, and preference.

No matter which way you choose to shop, our guides are always there to help you choose between our easy-to-browse strain categories (Energy, Calming, or Balanced). Not sure if flower, edibles, or another product is best? That’s yet another question we’re happy to answer – something that even the coolest vending machine won’t be able to do.
