LB: I have wanted to be a cannabis entrepreneur ever since I became a medical cannabis patient in 2013, as I absolutely love this plant and consider it my greatest passion in life. I went through my undergrad business classes at Northeastern through the lens of cannabis whenever possible. I wrote every paper I could about cannabis, considered how different subjects applied to cannabis and went to every cannabis event I possibly could find.

When I graduated in early 2016, I enrolled myself into courses at the Northeastern Institute of Cannabis and joined the leadership team of Women Grow Boston, where I helped put on monthly networking events for women in cannabis. In the summer of 2016 I re-dislocated my kneecap, which was an old basketball injury, and used a cannabinoid & herb infused salve that completely changed my recovery process. It would immediately help with the pain and inflammation, while dramatically improving the bruising. It was my lightbulb moment to combine this new discovery of how powerful topicals are with my passion for organic ingredients and desire to help others, to create The Healing Rose.

We realized that while cannabis-infused salves were our first dream as a company, that in 2016 it would be a while before we could ever get a license to make THC Salves, so we dove into the world of hemp. Combining powerful healing herbs, and essential oils with high quality, full spectrum hemp CBD extracts into topicals resulted in amazing feedback and we never looked back. Now I can make a difference in the lives of thousands of customers who rely on our products for their daily lives and well-being, which is the most rewarding feeling and career.

We have 6 unique product lines for our customers that include Herbal Salves, Bath Soaks, Massage Oils, Lip Balms, & Roll On Oils. We also have CBD Oils & CBG+CBD Oils that are extremely popular.

Personally, my top 5 favorite products are the Lemon Ginger 4X Herbal Salve, our Relax & Restore Roll On, our Gold CBG+CBD Oil, Relax & Unwind Bath Soak, and Orange Lavender Lip Balm. I have found such an improvement in my quality of life since starting this company and using these products everyday of my life. As a former athlete and as a youth sports coach who remains active, I am so grateful to have products that can help me recover and manage prior injuries.

WHAT’S THE MOST HEARTWARMING STORY YOU’VE HEARD OF A CUSTOMER USING YOUR PRODUCTS AS IT RELATES TO WELLNESS? 

This is such a hard question because we have received hundreds, if not thousands, of feedback stories throughout the years and it is hard to pick just one. From grandmothers who can knit again after years of not being able to, to hearing stories of changing people’s lives from being suicidal to finding peace and happiness, we have an internal collection of too many stories to count that have made me cry. I find it so rewarding. It truly never gets old and really fuels our team’s internal fire to work hard and make the highest quality products infused with our love and positive energy.

WHAT DOES BEING ABLE TO STOCK THE HEALING ROSE IN LEGAL MASSACHUSETTS ADULT-USE CANNABIS DISPENSARIES LIKE CANNA PROVISIONS MEAN TO YOU? 

Being able to finally have our products at dispensaries like CannaProvisions is an absolute dream come true. In my role as the Founder and Director of the Massachusetts Hemp Coalition, my fellow activists and I worked to get the budget amendment passed and implemented that allowed for this in our state. It is so rewarding to finally be able to see our products on dispensary shelves and it is going to allow our small business to grow and expand. Even more so, I love that this amendment is able to help our local hemp farmers and businesses with exclusive access to selling their hemp CBD into dispensaries because only MDAR licensees can do so.

WHERE DO YOU WNAT THE HEALING ROSE TO BE IN 5 YEARS? 

I love this question! I see us continuing to grow organically, always sticking to our roots and creating the highest quality, organic products for consumers. I also see us becoming a national brand that is known all over the country, and hopefully other parts of the globe as CBD laws change in other countries. We also have a lot of innovative products in R&D and assuming MA laws change to allow CBD in food items in the future, we have a lot of fun ideas for consumable products that we hope to bring to life.
