During spring, this cultural hub of the Berkshires comes alive with outdoor adventures, community festivals, and live music. Spring 2026 is shaping up to be especially exciting, giving visitors a brand-new reason to make the trip.

Save the Date: Berkshires Spring Events
The 80th Annual Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt kicks off at The Common on Saturday, April 4. The event is split into several age groups, so the competition is fair. Along with prizes for the top egg-hunters, children will get to enjoy face painting, balloon animals, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself.
Another draw is Hancock Shaker Village’s Baby Animals Festival. This event runs from April 18 to May 10 and features baby lambs, goats, piglets, and chicks at the historic farm.
The celebrations continue into late May, when the Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFF) celebrates its 20th anniversary. The event will bring back past winners, celebrate old films, and debut new entries from filmmakers taking their shot at film festival fame.

The Berkshires are cannabis-friendly in a way that many other cities aren’t. The Wellness Way: A Berkshire Cannabis Trail is a curated guide to dispensaries and experiences across the region. Any adult aged 21 or older can buy cannabis in Massachusetts without a residency requirement, so it’s easy for visitors to enjoy responsibly. (Cannabis is only legal on private property with the owner’s permission, so plan ahead with a 420-friendly rental.)
